The National Heritage Olympiad (NHO) is a unique national-level academic initiative designed to foster awareness, appreciation, and responsibility towards India’s rich and diverse heritage. It aims to go beyond textbooks and ignite curiosity among students about the cultural, natural, and intangible traditions that shape our identity.
In a rapidly modernizing world, heritage often becomes a silent backdrop. The Olympiad brings it to the forefront—transforming learning into an engaging, thought-provoking, and meaningful experience.
Why National Heritage Olympiad?
India’s heritage is not just about monuments—it is about stories, traditions, languages, crafts, rituals, and knowledge systems passed across generations.
The Olympiad helps students:

Who Can Participate?
The Olympiad is open to students from across India:
- Primary Level: Classes 2–5
- Middle Level: Classes 6–8
- Secondary Level: Classes 9–12
Schools, educational institutions, and individual participants are welcome to register.

The Olympiad is designed to be engaging and analytical rather than rote-based:
- Mode: Online / Offline (School-based)
- Format: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) + Visual-Based Questions
- Duration: 60 minutes
- Language: English / Hindi
- Levels: Separate question papers for each category
